Hello class, welcome to the wonderful world of gluten free! In Gluten-ology 101 I will be teaching you what you need to know about the dough. If you have recently been diagnosed with Celiac Disease or are fighting Hashimoto’s Disease or another medical condition, it can be tough to determine the good brands from the bad. I’ve been gluten free for two years now, and I’ve tried some great brands that taste just like “real” bread, as well as some gluten free bread that tastes just like cardboard. Here are my personal favorite gluten-free breads! All these brands are gluten, dairy and soy free so they are Strange Diet approved.
This gluten free bread tastes just like the real thing! Canyon Road has so many great product options: bagels, cinnamon raisin bread, buns for burgers and hotdogs, and my personal favorite, english muffins.
You can purchase Canyon Road at Sprouts Farmers Market, some Fry’s Food Stores (also known as Kroger’s and Fred Meyer). Other places to purchase are Amazon, Walmart, Safeway (also known as Vons) and Costco!
This brand is making waves, as it should be, because the products they make all taste amazing! My personal favorite? The Original Flatbread Pita! Also, MyBread just came out with a Gluten Free Baguette – yum!
You can find MyBread at Sprouts Farmers Market!
→ Udi’s Gluten Free
This was the first brand I discovered when going gluten, dairy and soy free! Udi’s has more than just bread products, they have muffins, mug cakes, tortillas! I love their buns for hotdogs and hamburgers. Also, if you order a gluten free bun at a restaurant you are most likely getting a Udi’s Bun. (My friends all laugh at me because I always point out if it’s a Udi’s Bun where we are eating out) All their bread products are gluten free; however, not all their products are dairy and soy free, so be sure to read the labels!
Udi’s Gluten Free can be found at Sprouts Farmers Market, Fry’s Food Stores, Safeway, Walmart, Target, and Amazon.
→ Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Bread Products
Trader Joe’s, how I love thee; let me count the ways! In the bread section at your local Trader Joe’s, you will see that they have a variety of gluten free goodies! From bagels (my personal favorite) to sliced bread and many more, you have to go check out and see what’s new in the Trader Joe’s world! Please note that Trader Joe’s has a lot of gluten free items throughout the store, but not all of the gluten free items are also dairy and soy free.
You can buy Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Bread at, you guessed it, Trader Joe’s!
The gluten free world is expanding and more brands are emerging as the demand for gluten free products is increasing. Going gluten free has never been easier with so many brands making substitutions for some of our favorite classic “bread” staples! Next class, we will discuss another fun gluten free product: pasta, maybe bagels? Let me know what you would like to know more about in our next Gluten-ology 101 class!
In any typical class, there’s homework. I want to know if you have tried any of these products before, and what is your favorite gluten free bread brand! Let me know in the comments below.
Thank you all for joining me for our first Gluten-ology 101 class – where you learn what you need to know about the dough!
